I don’t care who knows it, I love people who spoil their pets. The best man joked that Jackie and Nick’s dog ate better than most of the people currently on Stout’s Island, and I believe him, because Jackie and Nick are awesome. The best part was how much fun they could still have – in the dancing, at the ceremony and just being with each other – even though it was hot enough to melt plastic that day. If they were ice cream, they would have melted into puddles and evaporated, but you would never know that from looking at their pictures or their film. I just want everyone who wasn’t there to appreciate how hot that day was and how crazy in love you have to be to forget that!
I’ve also got to give a shout out to the staff at Stout’s Island. Right as we were pulling our gear cart into place on the island, the front wheel snapped off. At the end of the night, the staff brought a four-wheeler right to where were grounded and helped us load up to get to the ferry. Talk about above and beyond! Especially since, as I mentioned, it was not a mild day. We owe thanks to the whole crew there!
