Hannah always wanted a winter wedding, but instead of being surrounded by snow, we found ourselves in wheaty fields and warm colors. Everything else (I hope) matched up to her creative vision, which was the subject of one of the sweetest and, simultaneously, most hilarious parts of her vows.
Hannah said she knew she had found her match when Aaron asked if she had ever thought about their wedding. In response, she pulled out a 45-slide PowerPoint presentation. Instead of fleeing (as some might have done), Aaron dove headfirst into the collaborative endeavor, adding and editing slides with gusto. Hannah said she knew then that her soul had found its counterpart; not everyone can see the romance of PowerPoint, but clearly, most of us are missing out.
The wedding party had such great energy, I concocted what might just be the goofiest prompt in Eyetography history. Everyone was already swaying and dancing a little to keep warm, so I asked the guys to bend their knees on the beat, while the girls bent on the opposite beat. It took us a moment to get on the beat, but then it was a hilarious sight, a small symphony of silliness that perfectly encapsulated the playful spirit of the day.
Hannah and Aaron also prepared an amazing first dance for their guests. Their coordination together in that song really encapsulated something I felt all day: their ability to create a wedding day that was planned but still felt like genuine fun. Hannah and Aaron are clearly planners and had a vision, but the day didn’t feel dictated by a schedule. Every step of the way, their energy (and everyone in the wedding party), was “we get to do this part now!”
Hannah and Aaron, may your journey together be filled with countless PowerPoint dates and adventures, endless dance parties, and enough love to warm even the coldest of days. Congratulations!
