I’m so in love with Carissa’s wedding dress. Her mom made it (and the veil! and the flower girl’s dress!) out of her own wedding dress. I told so many people about this dress and the story behind it and now we finally get to share the photographs!
Long sleeve dresses might be a trend right now, but I hope it sticks around. Not only because I love the look, but because it was really cold! All the girls had white fluffy gloves (a great bridesmaid gift for a winter wedding by the way) and long sleeves.
We actually did all the outdoor photos, including the first look, in the backyard of the bride’s house. How cool is that? When they look back at their photos years later, it won’t be of them in a park they never visit but in a place saturated with memories and meaning. Plus, I say again, it was cold, so going right outside and hopping back in to warm up was just…sanity.
Carissa and Jon, thank you for including us in your amazing day. I’m sorry that Belgium gets to keep you and not Minnesota, but it was an honor to capture your wedding day!
So much Love & beauty!! We could not be at wedding, so really enjoyed the picture.
Everything was perfect, you all were beautiful and handsome, will be waiting to see more pictures! Happy New Year ! Love Grandma Kathy
Dear Carissa ad Jon,

[…] Speaking of awesome women, I’d like to take a moment and acknowledge all people that made Maggie and Joe’s wedding amazing (ice storm and all), especially Maggie’s mother, who designed and made many of the dresses worn that day including Maggie’s wedding dress and her own. On top of that, she created all of the centerpieces on the table and who knows what else! This is a woman amazingly creative and talented. We were so excited to photograph her work again. […]
