Stillwater, Minnesota, is one of those towns that feels like it was made for engagement photos—historic charm, river views, and plenty of spots that make you want to linger. We met Abby and Evan on a beautiful Fall evening that started at the beach, where the light was soft and golden over the water. From there, we followed the scenic route downtown, stopping along the way to take in the view of the Lift Bridge before ending the session the sweetest way possible—with ice cream from Leo’s Grill & Malt Shop.
Abby and Evan both grew up nearby—she in Stillwater and he in Woodbury—so photographing them here felt like coming full circle. Between shots, we talked about travel dreams (Italy, Greece, and Croatia are on their honeymoon list), favorite local eats (Evan had his heart set on brisket mac and cheese at Brick & Bourbon afterward, yum!), and even the magic of Costco, a topic near and dear to Kuba’s heart.
By the time the sun dipped below the river, these two were laughing, relaxed, and totally in their element. Stillwater has a way of doing that—reminding you to slow down and enjoy the moment. And that’s exactly what Abby and Evan did: soaking in the last light of day, ice cream in hand, ready for everything that comes next.
