Will’s dad gave such a great toast at the reception this day, full of dry humor. “So, we could be grateful that we’re healthy enough to be here, but that’s kind of an old person’s thing.” So he toasted to something else entirely:
“What is it when two people who are strong, driven, caring, and fit find each other on some random blind date? …It may be magic, but it’s most assuredly good luck.” Good luck, he describes, is “something that is good for us by definition, it’s widely under appreciated and it’s completely free.”
He also joked that he saw his son blossom from a man who could only speak in one word sentences into who he is today, and he tracks that change to his first date with Sydney.
“If there is such a thing as a harmonic convergence of good luck, I think we’re all there now. So raise your glasses one last time with me and salute to good luck, and let us all wish a lifetime of that to Will and Sydney.”
