As we rode the ferry across the lake on the morning of Chris and Andrea’s wedding, the clouds were dark and threatened rain. Finally Stout’s Island came out of the mist. We hopped ashore and set out across the island. On the way, there were constant “look over there!” moments. We discovered beautiful willows, views of the lake, classic cabins and lodges – basically an awesome place to shoot an awesome couple.
Right before the ceremony, the mist cleared and everyone was able to sit out under the late afternoon sun as Andrea came down the aisle. After some tearful vows, everyone went back up the hill for cocktail hour and lawn games.
The highlight of the night might have been the flash mob, which was a total surprise to the bride and groom. Right before Andrea’s dance with her dad, the DJ started playing “Sunshine in my Pocket” by JT instead of the Father-Daughter dance song. One of the guests, an older gentleman, came out to the dance floor and started dancing. Andrea looked confused, but laughed. It wasn’t until members of the bridal party started coming to the floor and doing the choregraphed dance that she realized what was happening. Her reaction – and Chris’s – was priceless!
Andrea and Chris, thank you so much for letting us join you on the island. Congratulations and best wishes!
